Substances of very high concern (SVHC)
What the field means and how to get the information from suppliers.
Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) are on the candidate list of the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA). If an article contains such a substance above 0.1 percent by mass, you must already disclose this today under REACH Art. 33.
- Ask your suppliers for a REACH declaration (Art. 33). Many have a template.
- If no SVHC is contained: “No SVHC above 0.1 % (as of candidate list MM/YYYY)”.
- If there is: state the substance name, CAS number and component.
- The candidate list is extended regularly – review the entry about twice a year.
