Digital Product Passport for textiles

What textile manufacturers can already prepare today, even though the exact mandatory information is still being defined.

Textiles are at the top of the EU Commission’s working plan for the ESPR. The binding requirements and the date of the obligation will be set by a separate delegated act which, at the time of this article, has not yet been finally adopted. The Textiles profile in DPP Creator is therefore marked as preparatory.

What you can already collect today

  • Material composition with shares and recycled content per material.
  • Country of manufacture and stages of the supply chain.
  • Care, repair and disposal instructions.
  • Certificates and labels, for example GOTS or GRS, uploaded as evidence.
  • Carbon footprint and calculation method, if you measure it.

Why start early?

The data is usually held by suppliers in several countries. Those who practise the request early have no bottleneck when the obligation comes into force. With the supplier requests in DPP Creator you send each supplier a personal link, they enter the values themselves, and you apply them with one click.

Voluntarily published passports are also a transparency offer for customers and retailers: one scan shows origin, material and care instructions.
