Printing the QR code correctly

Size, quiet zone, material – and why the code never becomes invalid.

  • Minimum size 1.5 × 1.5 cm, better 2 × 2 cm. The further away it is scanned from, the larger it must be.
  • Do not cut off the white border (quiet zone) around the code – it is already included in the download.
  • Dark code on a light background. Do not invert it and do not print it on heavily textured surfaces.
  • SVG scales without loss and is the best choice for print shops, labels and laser engraving.
  • Test it once with a phone before printing.

The code stays valid

The QR code contains a fixed address that never changes – not even if you edit, republish or withdraw the passport. So you can print now and add information later.

GS1 Digital Link

If the product has a GTIN (EAN), DPP Creator creates the code as a GS1 Digital Link (…/01/GTIN). Checkout systems and retailer apps can read this standard too. Without a GTIN a short address (…/p/ID) is used.
